Epilepsy is chronic condition characterized by recurrent seizures. Seizures occur when there is excessive or abnormal firing of neurons in the brain. There are over 40 different types of epilepsy, and formal testing (like EEG) is diagnostic. Traditional medical therapies include medication to suppress symptoms and keep seizure occurrences at bay.

There are many natural therapies that support the nervous system in a child with epilepsy. These therapies focus on reducing excessive and abnormal firing. Neurotransmitter support is the foundation for naturopathic pediatric management of epilepsy.

Additionally, we focus on proper hydration, fiber and symptomatic relief as necessary.
